The youngest son of Drucilla Lee and her husband Benjamin, George Washington Lafayette "Fate" Lee was most likely too young to serve in the Confederate Army as his brothers, Jourdan Thomas and Benjamin W. H. served. Fate, as he was called, would have been only eight years old.
George Washington Lafayette Lee married when he was twenty-five years old to Anna Cooley. It took some time to find his marriage record because they married in Madison County, and I was expecting them to marry in Tallapoosa County as other Lee families. They married 18 December 1878.
